STUDY PLAN

A singing music course for beginners, intermediate and advanced students requires a study plan that caters to the different levels of expertise of the students. Each level requires a different approach to ensure that the student gets the most out of the course. The following study plan provides a blueprint for structuring a singing music course that is effective for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.

Beginner Level (Grade 1 to 3):

The beginner level is for students who have little or no experience in singing. The focus of this level is to teach basic singing techniques and develop vocal control. It is recommended that the course structure is divided into two parts – theory and practical.

Theory:

Introduction to music: Students will be introduced to the basics of music, including music notation, scales, and keys.

Vocal Anatomy: Understanding of vocal anatomy is important for singing. Students will learn the different parts of the vocal system and how they work to produce sound.

Breathing techniques: Students will be taught various breathing techniques that will help them to control their breath while singing.

Pitch and tone: This section will focus on techniques to develop proper pitch and tone. It will include exercises to help students hit correct notes and maintain a consistent tone.

Ear training: Students will learn to develop their ear to recognize different musical notes.

Practical:

Warm-up exercises: Students will be taught various warm-up exercises to prepare their voice before singing.

Singing techniques: An important aspect of this section will be the correct singing posture and techniques.

Song choice: Students will learn how to choose songs that they can easily sing and that will complement their vocal range.

Performance preparation: Preparing for a performance is crucial to boost confidence.

Intermediate Level (Grade 4 to 6):

The intermediate level is designed for students who have some basic knowledge of singing techniques. This level will focus on developing breath support and improving pitch and tone.

Theory:

Advanced vocal anatomy: Students will learn more advanced concepts of vocal anatomy, including the muscles used in singing.

Pitch and tone: This section will help students to further develop their pitch and tone.

Harmony: Students will be taught the fundamentals of harmonizing and how to use it effectively in their singing.

Vocal exercises: A more focused approach on vocal exercises will be taken to improve breath support and vocal range.

Practical:

Song interpretation: Students will learn how to interpret songs to express emotions effectively.

Stage performance: Students will learn how to use the stage to their advantage during performances.

Advanced Level (Grade 7 to 8):

The advanced level is for students who are already well-versed in singing techniques and want to advance their skills further. This level focuses on developing a professional-level voice and stage performance.

Theory:

Extended vocal anatomy: Students will learn advanced concepts of vocal anatomy, including the physical and emotional connections to singing.

Vocal control: This section will focus on developing voice dynamics, including the use of vocal registers.
