Our Music Production Diploma course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of music production techniques and practices. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with some prior experience in music production.
The course is divided into three levels of advancement, from Level 1 to Level 3. Each level is designed to build upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous level, providing students with a gradual and structured learning experience.
STUDY PLAN
The Music Production Diploma revolves around six main subjects:
- Coursework task: in order to enhance your technical skills, you will be asked to complete a coursework task which will demonstrate your ability to use the digital audio workstation (DAW) of your choice.
- Music Production Terminology and Sound and Audio Fundamentals
- Sonic Fidelity
- Music Theory & Harmony
- Stylistic Awareness
- Music Production of your favorite songs and genres
Grades 1-3 (Level 1)
Level 1 covers the basics of music production. Students will learn about the different types of recording equipment and software, and how to use them to create professional-quality recordings. They will also learn about the fundamentals of music theory, including scales, chords, and melody. By the end of Level 1, students will have a solid foundation in music production and will be able to create their own basic recordings.
Grades 4-5 (Level 2)
Level 2 takes students to the intermediate level of music production. Students will learn advanced techniques for recording and editing audio, including mixing and mastering. They will also learn about MIDI sequencing and how to use virtual instruments to create a wide variety of sounds. In addition, students will learn about the different types of music genres and how to produce tracks that fit within those genres. By the end of Level 2, students will have a solid understanding of intermediate-level music production and will be able to produce more complex recordings.
Grades 6-8 (Level 3)
Level 3 is designed for advanced students who want to take their music production skills to the next level. In this level, students will learn about advanced mixing and mastering techniques, as well as how to use special effects and plugins to create unique sounds. By the end of Level 3, students will be able to produce professional-level recordings and will be well-prepared for a career in music production.

Our online course in music production leads to a final certification by RSL UK, a leading provider of music qualifications. The RSL UK certification is highly respected in the music industry and can be a valuable asset for students who are looking to pursue a career in music production.
RSL qualifications are delivered in over 40 countries worldwide, across 6 different continents. RSL’s Performance Arts Awards group graded exams and RSL Graded Music Exams carry UCAS points at 6, 7 & 8. RSL’s regulated qualifications are listed on the National Register of Approved Qualifications. RSL’s regulated qualifications are recognised within the EU as valid in the Bologna Process and are now part of the European Qualifications Framework. From April 2012, all RSL certificates will have the appropriate EQF level identified on them.
ABLETON LIVE LITE INCLUDED
Included in the course you’ll have the licence of Ableton Live Lite: Live 11 Lite is lightweight, flexible software that makes music creation and performance fast and fluid. It includes essential workflows, instruments and effects for creating new sounds, recording ideas, performing on stage, and much more.
You can make music in Live in two different ways. Live’s Session View lets you freely mix and match musical ideas without thinking about where your song starts or ends. The Arrangement View is where you can develop an initial idea or organize your parts to create the right musical flow for your track. You can also simply record everything you do in the Session View into the Arrangement View to improvise your way to a finished song. Live Lite includes all the sound you need to make complete tracks. Use Live 11 Lite’s kits or design your own to make beats. Open one of the included Instrument Racks to add melodies and harmonies. Process, mix or mangle with Audio and MIDI Effects such as Redux, Phaser-Flanger, Limiter, Expression Control and more.
